As you may know Anima Publishing came into existence in 1985 to publish and distribute the book THE SAD TALE OF SCIENTOLOGY. Since then it has gone on to handle books, booklets, articles and other artefacts based on the philosophy and technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard. Many of our publications have been translated into other languages and although texts exist in English, they have never been offered for distribution. We have been asked to provide this service to a number of people and so are producing a current list of what is available. Some of these texts are not bound as books but are photocopies on A4 paper in a clip folder. Because they are not printed in volume the unit cost is quite high. Strictly speaking these are not books but private manuscripts. We hope that anyone buying them will find them useful for themselves and others and for that reason we have only put limited copyright on them. So if you feel a chapter would be helpful to a friend of yours, please feel free to photocopy it and give it to them. The majority of these books are introductory so they are aimed at people who have no previous knowledge of the subject. They do not mention Scientology, Dianetics or even L.Ron Hubbard because the unfortunate reputation attaching to these names represents a barrier which stops people judging the subject on its merits. We do advise anyone who is using these books to help others to avoid withholding the true origin of these ideas for too long. Once a person has had some real benefit, it is best to tell them where it came from and guide them toward getting more. The basic references on which most of the material in these books is based are to be found in the published works of L.Ron Hubbard. These are available in the form of books, bulletins, audio tapes and packs from New Era Publications. There is also an active second hand market in these published works and if you want to buy or sell particular items, you can inform us and we will try to help. There follows a list of the publications that we are able to offer with a brief description of each. We have found that the most economical and reliable method of buying and selling small items is to send currency notes by registered mail. It has taken a long time to get this to happen and we hope you will support this project. A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE Eric Townsend
An overview of what is dealt with by the Scientology Grades and how these issues relate to Dianetics. An explanation of how the current definition of Clear has been arrived at and what has to be handled after Clear. This book was written to give data to people who had been involved in Scientology, who are probably Clear but did not do or complete the Grades, and who probably have only limited information on the Grades. This book should only be read by people who already have some knowledge of the Tech. and who are probably Clear. Ideally read in a courseroom with access to a Technical Dictionary and other materials. A4 loose leaf 80 pages
UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BEHAVIOUR Eric Townsend
This is an explanation of the theory of the Human Emotional Tone Scale. It then deals with the various Tone levels and how they relate to each other. It aims to replace the Ruth Minshull book which is no longer available, published in English as "How to Choose your People" and in German as "Emotions".
One major difference is that it deals with the issue of Social Tone. The book incorporates illustrations and there are practical exercises at the end of each chapter. (No reference to LRH or Scientology) A4 loose leaf 90 pages
HOW TO LEARN Eric Townsend
This book is in two parts. The first is an illustrated guide to basic learning principles at a reading level appropriate for children or adults. The second is an expanded text, plus practical exercises and guidance notes for teachers and others who may be using this book to help people with learning difficulties.
Includes reasons for learning, barriers to learning and personal judgement. Attribution to LRH at end. A4 loose leaf 28 pages & 40pages both parts contain illustrations.
DIANETICS Manual for training Book One Auditors.
This is a write up of a course run many times in the early eighties to get people familiar with the theory and practice of Dianetics. Each step is cross referenced to the paperback edition of DMSMH. The course cannot be run without using DMSMH as a source book. A4 loose leaf 57 pages including diagrams and illustrations for flip charts.
THE BASIC BOOK Produced by Advanced Ability Centre Edinburgh
A useful summary of the fundamental principles of LRH technology in simple English. It covers Tone Scale, Study, Dangerous Environment, ARC and Third Party Law. Very useful short refresher. A4 45 pages loose leaf. No reference Scn or LRH
SAD TALE OF SCIENTOLOGY A short history 1950 to 1985.
